You can bring bottled water on a plane ( Just not through security ) You have to buy any water you want to bring on the plane at one of the little stores near your gate. I just came off a plane 3 days ago. As far as getting water on the plane, the flight attendant on my flight walked around with 1 large bottle of water offering a small glass to anyone that wanted some. Hardly enough water if you needed any. Not surprised that they are going to now charge for it.
