Just so you know, what Obama did was a flip-flop. However, he did it to try and break the gridlock in congress over the energy crisis. Neither the Republicans nor the Democrats were willing to concede any of their line items to get the other side to play along. Obama said he would allow for some offshore drilling, as long as other concessions (push for renewable energy sources, tax break for citizens, etc.) were accepted byt the Repubs. Pretty fair choice, and since it seems the only way to get anything done, I would say that was also good leadership. Politics is a game of give and take; Obama played it well.

People are too stupid and selfish to understand that how they spend their money creates the world they live in. In this way capitalism has failed. A little bit of thinking and some small personal sacrifice has the ability to stop the abuse of power and freedom, but so many people can only think of short term gain and believe they either have no control of what goes on outside their own houses or that is doesn't affect them.
